Week 5

Image
Hey all! This week was a bit of a quieter one for us, but was still able to see some new things and help out some more people, which always feels good. On our Pday we ended up just chilling at the apartment most of the day, but we did go to Cascade Falls which was really cool. If you ever visit BC I'd recommend checking it out. The rest of the days were a lot of service with a couple lessons tossed in but it was still really great to meet more people. On the Thursday I actually was able to get my BC equivalent of a G2 license, but now I have to drive with an N magnet on the back of my car, which is a little sucky since it sticks out like a sore thumb. Oh well, I get to drive here and that's the important part. We also were able to do some street contacting in Fort Langley, which was a really cool experience, people are definitely more receptive to hear what you have to say in person so we had some awesome conversations. Overall it was a good week, and I'm super excited for ...

Week 4

Super busy week, and man does time fly. It feels like just yesterday I was landing in BC nervous about all sorts of things, and now I've been out almost a month. Super crazy but I've enjoyed it so much and I've seen so much growth in myself and those we're interacting with. This week we did a lot of contacting different people through social media or street contacting, and found as a zone a total of 137 new people interested in learning more which is insane! It was so cool to see all the people my fellow missionaries were finding and seeing the work going forward is so cool to see. We also had tons of service opportunities this week. I've even started learning farming over here which is interesting. Tuesday was especially crazy, we were just driving from place to place doing service. It can definitely be tiring but it's also super rewarding and I can see how it can benefit the people we're helping. On our Pday we actually did a hike to Golden Ears as a distr...

Week 3 - Summer Vibes

Hey all! This week has been really awesome. The weather has been great so we have been able to do tons of service for people around Mission. It can be tiring work but it's definitely worth it and is still quite fun. We also get to meet tons of different dogs since most people here have them. Our lessons and meetings with people have also been going really well, we were able to have lessons with quite a few people who are interested in learning more, and the spirit you could feel during the lessons was amazing. We also had our first in person Zone conference this week(for those who don't know, it's basically a large meeting for all the missionaries in the zone, which consists of quite a few cities). It was such a spiritual experience and I got to learn so much about how to better share with people and just ways to be a better missionary. Such an awesome experience and I'm super hyped for the next one. Overall the week was really good, we're going hiking today so next...

Week 1 & 2

Week 1 "BC is so nice! It's got beautiful scenery and the people I've met so far have all been pretty friendly, with the couple exceptions of course. However, I apparently flew out at just the right time because we got hit with a massive heat wave basically my second day out lol. But we endure it, but this is all a part of the Missionary life, and I know that I'll be better and the people around me will he better if we endure it. I'd like to share Alma 26:12 from the Book of Mormon, which is a really great verse for now during this crazy time, and anytime you might feel overwhelmed with things. "Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever." I can testify that if you rely on the strength of God and have faith in Him, you can do thi...
