Week 27

Hey All! Here's week 27: It's finally Christmas!! But before any of that, there's a couple events that happened before the special day. On Tuesday we did another exchange, this time with our Zone Leaders. It was awesome to learn from them and see how they've grown over the course of their missions. On Thursday I was able to call my dad as it was his birthday! It was great to chat with him for a bit. On Christmas Eve we went to the Stelnicki’s house for dinner and nativity, we were 9 missionaries total, it was so much fun, there is a video but it’s too long to share here, haha, you can see some of the pictures though. Then the special day arrived! We started off our Saturday morning with calling home and opening our gifts. It was amazing seeing the generosity of the members in the ward, and I'm super thankful to them. We then did an awesome brunch with our district, followed by a mission wide zoom call. We wrapped up our day with a visit with our landlords, where we ...

Week 26

Wow, can you believe it is Christmas? 2021 is almost over!!!! Here are the highlights for last week: On Friday a car hit one of the post in our neighborhood and we ended up without power for 12 hours, we even had to sleep over at other missionaries’ apartment because of that. Saturday we had one more day of cleaning up the floods aftermath, it felt very good being able to help once again. Also on Saturday we had our Ward Christmas party, due to Covid we didn’t have a traditional Christmas dinner but got some very nice ice cream. Remember John from Kenia? For a while we lost his contact information and I am so excited to report that we were able to find him again, we taught him a lesson on Sunday and have another one scheduled for this week, he seems very impressed with all that we are teaching him. Went on a 2 days exchange with Elder Kleven, celebrated with some delicious pizza at the end of it. This week we have meals scheduled for almost every night, how cool is that?!?! Since Chris...

Week 25

Well, this was a very short week since my Pday was on Wednesday but it was still productive one, here are the highlights: On Saturday we were once again involved in cleaning the damage caused by the floods, we worked in two different houses, it feels pretty good to be able to help people out. We were visiting a family from our ward and one of the kids had a friend over and out of nowhere the young boy asked us “who is Heavenly Father?”, what a special experience it was to teach him about the Lord. Now there is even a chance of us teaching his family. Fun fact: our microwave doesn’t spin it’s plate anymore so now we have to do it manually, being a missionary can be very entertaining sometimes. The food still comes out hot so it is all good. Like I mentioned before, it was a pretty quiet week, but I'm excited for the week to come! Hope you're all doing well,  Elder Jacobowski 2. Pretend you can see us eating Poutine from Costco-forgot to take a picture before eating it 3. Matchin...

Week 23 & 24

Hey all! Sorry for not sending in last week's email, but now you get a double whammy! Week 23 was kind of quiet, here are the highlights: BIG NEWS: I hit 6 months as a missionary this week! December 2nd to be exact, its pretty crazy that I've been out for 6 months already. I'm thankful I still have quite a bit of time since there's so much I still need to learn! What a surprise, it is still raining in BC. It rains almost every day, all day. one pair of shoes already succumbed to the excessive water, haha. No worries, I'm a handyman and can fix it. I haven't mentioned her until now but we've been teaching a sweet lady called Leanne who is in her 80s. It's been such a special experience to share the gospel with her, and it testifies to me that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for everybody. Our zone had the opportunity to go to the temple which was a really awesome experience. I'm really glad I'm able to serve so close to the temple. We have a family ...
