Week 23 & 24

Hey all! Sorry for not sending in last week's email, but now you get a double whammy!

Week 23 was kind of quiet, here are the highlights:

BIG NEWS: I hit 6 months as a missionary this week! December 2nd to be exact, its pretty crazy that I've been out for 6 months already. I'm thankful I still have quite a bit of time since there's so much I still need to learn!

What a surprise, it is still raining in BC. It rains almost every day, all day. one pair of shoes already succumbed to the excessive water, haha. No worries, I'm a handyman and can fix it.

I haven't mentioned her until now but we've been teaching a sweet lady called Leanne who is in her 80s. It's been such a special experience to share the gospel with her, and it testifies to me that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for everybody.

Our zone had the opportunity to go to the temple which was a really awesome experience. I'm really glad I'm able to serve so close to the temple.

We have a family in our ward that is willing to feed us once a week (The Henri's)! Their food is amazing and it's been such a blessing to be able to meet with them and also teach their grandson Riley who was recently baptized!

We also helped a couple of families move this week. I really enjoy working with my hands so these kinds of services make me very happy. I'm glad we're also getting more members to meet and make friends with.

That was pretty much it for week 23!

Week 24

What a crazy week!! Transfer Week!

So, as you can see today is Wednesday and it is finally my Pday, which was bumped up twice this week but for good reasons. The first reason; it's Transfer Week and that always bumps Pdays to Tuesdays so whoever is moving has enough time to pack and make it to their new areas. The second reason is a crazy one but I'm glad we had the chance to help. Since we are still getting lots of rain and experiencing many floods my Zone Pday was bumped to Wednesday so we could go and help the affected area yesterday.

Here are the highlights of week 24:

I will be staying in Willoughby Ward with Elder Robins, which is nice. I enjoy working in this ward and am excited to see the results of this transfer.

Got my first snow of the season! It was less than 6” in my area but was still something, nothing compared to back home but winter is just starting so maybe I will see more of the “white stuff”, here it rains more than snow, haha.

Like I mentioned earlier, yesterday some missionaries from my Zone (myself included) went to the outskirts of Abbotsford to do some cleaning up due to the floods. We worked hard for 8 hours cleaning debris from a warehouse/barn, it was sad to see all the damage that the rain created but it felt so good to being able to help. Hopefully things will get better, the water will go down and things will slowly go back to normal.

Overall it's been an amazing couple of weeks! I'm glad for the chance I have to be a missionary now and for the people I've been able to meet. Hope you're all doing well!
