Week 21 & 22

Hey all! Sorry I missed last week's email, honestly just forgot to write it haha. So here's a summary of both last week and this week!

Week 21:

There was lots of rain this past week, and it's pretty gloomy some days but we still manage to have fun and enjoy ourselves. It's definitely a new thing for me to see so much rain and so little snow haha.

At around the middle of the week we did this thing called exchanges, which is when we trade companionships for a day to work with a district leader so they can see how you and your area are doing. This week I spent a full day working with Elder Vos while my official companion Elder Whitney worked with Elder Kleven. The interesting thing about this exchange was that Elder Vos’ mission is Chinese speaking meaning I helped him to teach some lessons in Chinese haha. And to answer any questions on that, nope I don’t speak any Chinese. It was a very cool experience.

Elder Golding, Elder Whitney, Elder Orr, Elder Crowfoot, Elder Stock and myself are preparing a musical video so last Thursday we went to Derby Reach to find a good location to record. Not sure when the video will be ready but I am excited about it.

Next Thursday we will have a Mission Conference which is a huge deal, ALL the Canada Vancouver missionaries will meet in Surrey for a special day, it will be great to see everybody. (More on this later)

Our leaf raking service is keeping us very busy, its been pretty nice to be able to help so many people. I love doing service so it's a win win for everyone haha.

That was about it for week 21!

Week 22

I thought there was lots of rain 2 weeks ago but nothing compared to this past week. Im not sure if you saw on the news but BC got hit super hard with rain and mudslides, people died, some houses/buildings just disappeared, lots of destruction everywhere. My companion and I are safe, nothing serious happened to our area but things are looking bad in many locations. Since many main roads are blocked or totally gone we are having trouble receiving all kind of supplies from outside of the Province. Stores shelves are pretty empty and gas being limited to 30 liters per visit, hopefully things will get better soon.

(Here's the later part) Our Mission Conference has been postponed for now. The Area President who was supposed to visit us came in contact with covid-19 so the tour had to be canceled for now which was a little disappointing but better safe than sorry, right?

The biggest news for this week is that I got myself a “greenie” – if you are wondering what that means wonder no more... Greenie is what we call a brand new elder or sister that just arrived from MTC, my new companion is Elder Robins, he is from Idaho and arrived in Canada last Wednesday, it is my job to train him and that is exciting and scary at the same time since I don't know if I know what I'm doing half the time, haha. I trust the Lord will help both of us during this time of adjustment.

It's been a pretty hectic 2 weeks, but I'm glad I'm out here in BC and that I'm able to be doing the Lord's work at this time. I hope all of you are doing well,
