Week 28 & 29
Well, we're back here again, forgetting to send an email last week haha.
I'll summarize both this week and last week in one go, as it's been a pretty hectic couple weeks. We've found a couple new friends, named Lisa and Bryan.
We helped Lisa shovel her car out of a snowed in street, since it's been the most snow in the Lower mainland for something like 20 years!
Bryan was our second friend who we helped pack up as he and his family are moving to Edmonton. It's been exciting to help out and find those ready to learn more about the gospel, and I'm grateful for an awesome start to the new year.
We were able to meet with a few members these past couple weeks, and I was also able to give a talk along with the other missionaries in the Willoughby Ward. It was pretty last minute but it was fun, as the topic was Christ like attributes and how we can develop them. I spoke about hope, and I wanted to share a bit from my talk to wrap up my email.
"Through Christ we can do things that seemed impossible to do alone. Through His atonement we can be forgive for our mistakes, and can know that he knows what we're experiencing as he went through it Himself. THATS why we have hope. Because he will always be on our side. He will never abandon us, nor will he consider us "too far gone". He says so himself as he speaks to the apostles. In Matthew 18:12-14, he talks of a shepherd with a flock of 100 sheep. One gets lost, and the shepherd goes to find the 1. He's knows and cares for the one that was lost, just as much as he cares for the 99."
I truly believe that Christ lives and that he can be the hope in the dark parts of our lives, as long as we turn to him. I know this week's email was a bit shorter but I'll work towards an awesome email next week haha.
Hope everyone is doing well,
