Week 30 & 31

Hey all,

I know I've been slacking on emailing every week haha, but I've got some fun stuff for this one so hopefully it makes up for it.

Week 30

End of the transfer, and we were doing as much work as we could in Willoughby as I had a big feeling that I was being transferred.

Well, I was right haha! It was a pretty crazy transfer call, as there were a lot of us who ended up moving. I loved my time in Willoughby, but I'm also ready and excited for the new adventure in a new zone.

This week I said goodbye to the Abbotsford Zone where I served since my day one in the mission field and where I made friends for life, some of the missionaries I will probably see again while in BC but some are finally going to their original mission assignments and who knows when we will meet again. Also said goodbye to my “son” Elder Robins, my first “greenie” ever.

I will miss being so close to the Temple, it was a real treat.

Week 31

I got transferred to North Shore Ward, in North Vancouver. I now serve in the Vancouver Zone.

It is the start of a new transfer, transfer number 6 for me!!!! It's crazy since that means I've been serving for almost 8 months already. Time really flies when you're serving, especially when you're able to share with others around you and enjoy your time.

Transfer day itself was quite hectic, lots of missionaries got together to take pics and say goodbye, then me and another Elder drove all the way to Vancouver. Driving in Vancouver is almost worse than driving in Toronto, there so many hills!! Once we got to the chapel where we were meeting up at, I met my new companion Elder Edwards from Lethbridge, Alberta. We then headed out to the apartment, which is realllyyyyyy nice haha. We live in the basement under the Stake President’s house, and it's a recently built home so its very fancy.

I now share an apartment with another FOUR missionaries, it is a whole new experience for me, I am sure it will be awesome and a little noisier than what I am used to, hahaha.

I already met 8 Brazilians in my new area, they usually get surprised to learn that my family is from Brazil with such a Polish last name, it is a great conversation start. Looking forward to speak a little Portuguese now and then and even finding some Brazilian grocery stores and buy myself some “guarana”, hahaha.

A cool thing was to learn that our ward mission leader is also from Brazil and that he has the exact last name as my mom before she became a Jacobowski, it would be so cool to learn that they are actually related, like a cousin 1000 times removed, hahaha.

As for the work… we do a lot more street contacting here than in Abbotsford zone. I'm still pretty uncomfortable with it, but I'm starting to adjust and it's nice to explore my new area. We also cover a much larger area than Willoughby, as we have branches in Squamish and Sechelt! We'll be visiting them later in the transfer, and it'll be a really good experience. I'm excited for the work to come, for the growing I'll do as I continue to put in my effort to bringing more people to the gospel. It's such a blessing to be able to do this, and even though it's hard it's definitely worth it.

Hope you're all doing well, and I hope to hear from some of you.

You can send me Facebook messenger texts if you don't want to email, I'll respond on my next Pday.
