Week 32 & 33
Hey! I'm late with emails once again!
It's been a great couple of weeks. There were some downs, but they all worked out by the end and there were a lot of ups, so it's actually been really nice.
Something super cool that we were able to do is go to Squamish, which is about an hour north of North Shore. It's a really pretty place, even though it was overcast the sceneries were awesome. We also got to drop off 3 bibles and attend the branch up there. Elder Edwards and I both gave talks, and the spirit could really be felt.
We also have the awesome opportunity to do a lot of ESL work. Whenever we go to start a lesson or class relating to ESL, I remember the time when I was in the 5th grade and was put into the program because the school heard my family was from Brazil haha. It was only a couple weeks, but it's still a funny thought. We have a ton of friends in these classes, and they're all so ready and willing to learn more about the gospel, it's truly a blessing.
We also had zone conference in week 32, and it was actually a really good one. We were able to work on our lesson skills, as well as testify to each other about the truths we know. It was such a spiritual experience, I'm glad I was able to be here in Van zone to experience it.
Today (Feb. We actually were able to do a temple trip! We did baptisms, which is something I haven't done in a long while, it was really cool. For those who don't know, the temple is a really special and sacred place for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where we do things for our ancestors and for our families here on Earth. It has such a special and calming feeling, even walking around the grounds. I'm glad we have a temple in our mission boundaries.
That was it for the past couple weeks honestly, there's probably more I'm forgetting but just know it's been awesome here in Vancouver. I've been serving for a little over 8 months now, and I'm excited for what's to come.
