Week 40

Hey all!

This week was a bit of a slower one, but that doesn't mean there weren't a ton of awesome miracles that happened! Let's jump straight into it.

To start off our week, we had the chance to be part of a new missionary workshop that was just introduced! It basically gave extra resources the missionaries who are training or in training while they are in the field, so it was really helpful. It also gave me ideas on a training I could give at my first district council that I'm leading, which happened the next day.

So on Wednesday like I mentioned I led my first district council. I was honestly pretty nervous haha, but it actually worked out quite well in my opinion. We were able to do a fun activity together, feel the Spirit and council with each other on some of our friends and how we can best help them. We ended it off with a group brunch, which was also a lot of fun! We ended Wednesday off by meeting with out friend Mitch, who is a returning member and is such a special person. He's so eager to do all the things he needs to so that he can become fully active in the church again, it's really cool to see.

Moving to Friday, we were able to eat lunch with out friend Doug again. He's an older guy who doesn't come to church, but it's honestly nice to hang out with him once a week. We got some Mexican and I unfortunately had to stand as there weren't enough chairs in the place haha. It's alright though, it was still really good.

Saturday we had an awesome lesson with the Oro's again, they're so nice to us and a ton of fun to be around haha. We played some Uno with them, and Brother Oro is ruthless. They also provided some great food and we were able to have a nice discussion as well. There was actually a bit of a scare when we were going to leave the Oro's place, as when I went to drive out of our parking spot on a hill, the car hadn't started for some reason. Once I put it into drive it just started rolling down, and we almost hit the truck parked behind us! We had like an inch before we would've hit it, so I'm glad I was able to break in time. That made for a really interesting way to end the night haha.

Sunday was fast and testimony meeting, which was honestly really nice. It's normally on the first Sunday of every month, but next Saturday and Sunday is General Conference! During church a lot of members bore testimony of the power of Christ and the Holy Ghost, along with their love for Heavenly Father. It was pretty awesome to see, and  we also had the amazing miracle to have 7 of our friends watch it as well! It was great to hear from them all on their thoughts about the meeting, and I'm so grateful I get to be a part of this work and see the change in people's lives.

I want to end off by saying I know how important this work is, and that everyone can do their part in it. Being a good example, caring for others, and just being a light in other's lives is a great way to be a missionary yourself. I know that Christ lives, and that he loves us.

I hope you all have an awesome week, and I'm excited for what's to come!
