Weeks 41 & 42

Hey all!

Sorry I missed last week's email, things were pretty hectic, but I'm ready to catch you all up on what happened these last couple weeks!

To start off, Week 41

We had the semi-annual General Conference! For those who may not know what that is, it's basically a worldwide broadcast from the Church several different speakers, including the Prophet himself! They all share inspirational messages of peace and hope, along with things that we can do to bring that in our lives. It was an amazing General Conference, and we got the chance to spend it with some members of the ward on Sunday which was really nice.

As another cool thing that happened in week 41, I also had the chance to go on exchanges with one of the Zone Leaders, Elder Johnson. He came up to North Shore, and it was a pretty cool time with him. We were able to bounce some ideas off each other along with joining in a Ward board game night (Elder Brown was not happy he missed it haha). It started on Tuesday and ended on Wednesday at District Council. I've gotten a lot more used to being a district leader now; it's still stressful but it's not as bad anymore haha.

Honestly, Conference was the big highlight of Week 41.

Week 42

We finally had our Mission Tour, it was canceled on the past because of Covid. ALL the missionaries from the entire mission came together to learn from one of the Church leaders who came to visit us. It was a really cool experience, and it was nice to see some missionaries I hadn't seen in a while.

We went to Sechelt on Sunday, which is one of the branches that we cover in this area, it was my second time so it was nice to go back and see the people out there again. The trip was still brutal since we had to wake up at 5:30 to make it on time for the ferry. All in all the Sunday we were up for around 18 hours, which was pretty tiring, haha.

This is a transfer week but not much is changing in our apartment. I had a feeling that was going to happen honestly. All 4 elders are staying together and I'm still the district leader. We'll see if things change during this upcoming transfer, but I'm definitely excited to stay in this area a little longer.

That was pretty much my past couple of weeks! It's been a blast being out in Vancouver, and it's been amazing to see all the miracles that come when you're serving others and trying to be the best person you can be. It's also really comforting to know that Christ is able to help me if I stumble, and that he'll always be there for all of us, as long as we reach out.

I hope everyone is doing well,

Elder Jacobowski
