Weeks 43 & 44

Hey all! Sorry I've been behind on my emails again, I've got to get on top of this, haha.

To start it off, we had transfers on the 13th which were actually kind of uneventful. Usually it's a hectic time but since all 4 missionaries are staying in our apartment we just went about our business as usual and started off our transfer on the right foot!

Towards the end of that week, we actually had a stake conference! Usually Easter weekends are pretty special for us in general, but this was even more special as we had the chance to join the adult session of Stake Conference, and we were even up on the stand! For those who don't know, the church organizes its members by regions, and in those regions are things called branches, wards and stakes. Wards are quite common and are the individual church buildings and the members who attend, while the stake covers multiple wards and is basically like a supervisor to the wards, so these special conferences only happen every 6 months or so because of the size. Long story short, a lot of people watched the conferences and we had front row seats, haha.

We also had the opportunity to create a missionary video (check it out).

On that P-day, I also got the chance to call my grandparents in Brazil which was really nice. My parents were visiting them so I got to talk to them after almost a year without hearing their voices, so that was a pretty cool experience.

In week 44, I had some more fun opportunities. On Tuesday we went up to Squamish again as all 4 elders to help someone move in. It was really nice to do some heavy lifting again, as we don't get to do as much service here in North Van as we did in previous areas. Don't get me wrong, I love not having to get super tired haha, but it was definitely nice to do some manual labour again.

I also got the chance to watch live my cousin Yochabelle (Sister Barlow at the time) arrive at the airport after finishing her 18 month mission! It was really cool to be able to see her be with her family again, and it's awesome that tech has gotten to the point where things like that can happen so easily. Now I'm sounding old haha. For about 6 months there was 3 of us cousins serving a mission a the same time somewhere, Lele went home in February and now Yocha is done too, for now I am the only missionary in my family that is in the field but I know that other of my cousins are getting ready to serve as well, yep, I am really getting old, hahaha.

On Sunday we had the amazing miracle of 9 friends watching church, including 3 people coming in person! One of those friends was named Sara, and it was actually her first time coming to in-person church. She brought her son along, and actually ran into some members with children who go to the same school as Sara's son! They sat together during church, and afterwards she messaged us super excited and really eager to come again. It was such a miracle to see.

Honestly, these past couple weeks were amazing! I'm so glad that I'm out here in Vancouver and that I get the chance to meet so many amazing people and see the changes I can make in my own life. I'll try and be more consistent about actual weekly emails haha
