Weeks 53 & 54

Whelp, I thought I finally got on top of weekly emails, but here we are again, haha. Anyways, these past couple of weeks were pretty great, I'll jump straight into it.

Week 53:

On P-day we went to a hike about 30 minutes south of Vanderhoof. It was pretty nice there, the waterfall was super powerful haha, we got soaked. We then just hung out at the cabin and chilled the rest of the day.

We also found this lady that we help out weekly. Her father owned a sports/hunting store downtown and they now need help to clear it out to sell the building. There's all sorts of cool things in there! Every time we go there its something new, it's always fun.

We also helped Chris get ready for his baptism on the 2nd of July. We're really hyped for him and for his commitment to come closer to Christ.

Week 54:

Had our final district council of the transfer this week. We held it at the cabin instead of the chapel in Vanderhoof since they're replacing all the carpets. It was actually pretty cool. On our way to the cabin we also got to see a bear, unfortunately the bear refused to take a self with us, hahaha.

Our weekly sports nights this week were actually super good! We had a lot of people coming, including some new faces, and the games themselves were quite competitive which is really nice. Yes, I know, I am bias when it comes to volley or basketball since I love it so much.

On Saturday we also had Chris Hanson's baptism!! It was a pretty small one since he doesn't like big crowds, but it was still a really spiritual experience and I'm glad we were able to get him baptised before the transfer ended.

On July 1st we celebrated Canada Day!!!! A very cool thing was to attend the “Canada Day Drumming Presentation”, in Prince George the event happened at the Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park. If you don’t know what that is I will tell you, haha. It started on 2017 when drummers across 5 time zones and many Canadian cities drummed simultaneously to celebrate Canada’s Birthday. Now it happens every year and it gets bigger every time. A native group was performing and got us to join up at the front, we didn’t play much but it was nice to be involved in something so special. You can Google for more information if you want to. They even have a Facebook page. Pretty cool!

It's been a blast here in PG, to be quite honest at first it was a bit of a shock but I've come to love it here. Hope you're all doing well!
