Weeks 57 & 58
Hey everyone! Since these past two weeks have been a little bit slower, I'll be combining them into one!
Basically, summer is brutal, haha. The temperatures skyrocketed around mid July so a lot of people either left the area to go to cooler places or are just staying inside, which is what we ended up doing too. Luckily through the power of the internet the work didn't stop, since we were able to work on Facebook when it was too hot to go out.
We also had Zone Conference this week, which was pretty cool as it was the first zone conference with our new mission President! President Gill and his wife are awesome, they're really spiritual and want to help us develop a better relationship with Jesus Christ, which is nice since I'm now over the 1 year hump and time is still flying.
We got to meet a couple of really cool people, Crissy and Beth who both said they were interested in learning more about the gospel, and it's been really nice helping them and working with them. It's also been interesting trying to find more people to teach as there are a ton of visitors (tourists) from all over the place coming here, so they aren't staying very long, haha.
As it became normal now we keep meeting pretty cool animals, nature is wonderful!
To wrap up I had a really cool opportunity to do a missionary video in Portuguese for a member's sister in Brazil. She works with the youth down there and I got the chance to share some of my experiences and my testimony with them over a video I recorded here in Salmon Arm. It's awesome to see how technology is really helping the work go forward, and it was a really interesting trying to read in Portuguese after not practicing very much, haha.
It's been great out here, and I hope everyone is doing good. You're all in my prayers!
