Weeks 85, 86 & 87
Hey y'all! I'm awful at weekly’s, not even apologizing anymore, haha.
Starting off this one with my transfer news! I'm staying with Elder Smart in Abbotsford, which I'm pretty excited about. It's been good to work with him, we're still doing sports nights as well which has been great, lots of new friends and people to meet!
We also had Zone Conference out in Burnaby. It was great to be with a bunch of missionaries and with our Mission leadership as well. There was some really amazing spiritual moments, and I'm glad we're able to have things like zone conference to learn from each other.
A pretty cool experience I had these past few weeks was meeting Elder Rodriguez's family. Elder Sebastian Coats Rodriguez served his mission in Toronto, specifically in my home ward, he had dinner with my parents in multiple occasions before coming back home. His grandma actually lives in the area where I am serving now so we got to hang out a bit and have dinner at her house with him and his mother, his family is from Mexico and I loooove Mexican food, I tried “Pozole”. She made some amazing food, I'm super grateful for them. The gospel really makes the world even smaller, one day Elder Rodriguez is at my dinning table and in another I am eating at his, so awesome.
We also got a chance to sew some pillows with Sister Ripley , it was super fun and a really interesting activity, haha, I've never made one before but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. One of the other missionaries also made a tie for me, it's probably one of my favorites that I own now.
I also got the chance to head to the temple, it was an amazing time and the spirit was super strong. I'm so glad we can go there and that's it's not far. I also got the chance to do some exchanges with the zone leaders, and was able to learn some really nice and useful advice for my life now and when I get home.
Another plus of being able to go the Richmond to attend the Temple is that I can also stop by at the Brazilian store and buy some guarana and coxinha, “win win” for me. Since Elder Smart's dad served his mission in Brazil he also developed a taste for Brazilian treats, we have fun together sharing our food.
Some pretty exciting news is that the wards we're currently serving in are changing! We originally had 3 wards but they are now going down to 2 of them. Now Elder Smart and I are covering most of our old Abbotsford 1st Ward boundaries and the Mission Ward boundaries, so I'm basically back in my first area of my mission, so I'm super excited about it.
To wrap up, we had interviews with our Mission President, and it was a really enlightening experience. He's a really spiritual man and has taught me a ton on my mission, I'm grateful for him. It's been an amazing time so far, and I'm excited for what's to come.
Hope you are all doing well, reach out if you ever wanna talk!
Love,
Elder Jacobowski
